In 1346, Moroccan traveler Ibn Battuta journeys to the Yuan capital of Dadu carrying a golden box of Sumali blue porcelain. He is ambushed by Tian Chengze, the king of the Nanyang fleet, but Yuan envoy Chen Dayuan sacrifices himself to protect him. When Ibn Battuta triggers a temporal rift with twelve star-navigation boards, he is transported to the Quanzhou Maritime Museum in 2026, where he encounters Chen Shutong, a researcher and descendant of Chen Dayuan. The two recognize each other through a jade pendant passed down through their families. A mysterious system is activated, giving them 72 hours to collect all twelve star-navigation boards. If they fail, Ibn Battuta will be trapped in the modern era forever. Tian Chengze is also swept into the temporal turbulence. Ibn Battuta, Chen Shutong, and Ma, a night-shift security guard, team up to complete the mission. They make their way through a series of challenges, including the museum's ship gallery, Kaiyuan Temple, the Dehua Yueji Kiln, and a reconstructed scene of the Maritime Trade Office. Along the way, they face Tian Chengze's interference and the covert sabotage of a mysterious woman named Lin Jiayao. Amid clashes and suspicion, they find cooperation and redemption. As they approach collecting all twelve star-navigation boards, the gateway through time is about to open. Yet the ultimate fate of Ibn Battuta and Tian Chengze, and the deepest secret behind the time travel, still holds unexpected twists and suspense, waiting to be revealed.
