Business-school lecturer Chao Ning and IT executive Yi Linxun meet through a practical blind date, both carrying scars from previous relationships and neither particularly interested in falling in love again. They agree to a six-month trial marriage with an unusual bet: whoever asks for a divorce first loses. What begins as a deliberately emotionless arrangement changes through everyday companionship, especially when Yi Linxun quietly supports Chao Ning through a career crisis and both begin lowering the defenses they built after their past relationships.
