Lucía Trevi has two dreams in life: to become a famous Hollywood actress and to win the love of José Simón Landaeta. She knows the first is practically impossible... but the second, why not? One afternoon, while making a delivery for the deli where she works, Lucía falls victim to a pickpocket... and the man who comes to her rescue, purely by chance, is Roberto Landaeta, José Simón's brother.Handsome and charming, yet down-to-earth and kind, Roberto is captivated by Lucía's beauty and warmth, and begins to woo her. Upon learning that she comes from humble means and must work to support her father, Roberto decides that to win Lucía's love on his own merits, free from the influence of his surname and fortune, he should hide his true identity. He tells her he is a labourer at the Landaeta corporation, rather than revealing that he is one of its owners.A beautiful friendship blossoms between Roberto and Lucía, even though she cannot stop thinking about her "Prince Charming," José Simón. She only manages to catch his attention through a misunderstanding, when he happens to mistake her for the aristocratic Countess of Fernese.
