Painting a heartwarming family portrait featuring the baker Nusret Baba, his wife Ayhan Hanım, and their delightful daughters, Ekmek Teknesi (The Bread Boat) chronicles the lives, joys, sorrows, struggles, and romances of a modest, unassuming middle-class neighborhood. Set in one of Istanbul's most vibrant neighborhoods—populated by characters like Heredot Cevdet, Ruhi the hardware store owner, the barber, Kirli, and Cengiz—the series blends charming, heartfelt stories with humor. Baker Nusret Efendi has five daughters... He leads a happy, contented life with his wife and five girls... For years, Nusret Efendi and his wife Ayhan Hanım have served as the neighborhood's parental figures... Everyone in the neighborhood trusts Nusret Efendi's words and holds him in high regard... The local community is made up of charming and eccentric individuals... While each has their own amusing story and life, their defining bond is that they live together... *Ekmek Teknesi* is the tale of an old Istanbul neighborhood—a story that, while fictional, is so beautiful one wishes it were real...
